How do you make a beautiful 11x8.5" landscape album filled with eight fully-embellished pages? Pair the Easy Eight Album Components with a Kids Rule Remix Page Kit to create a bright, cheerful home for photos of your favorite kid - or kid at heart.
Kids Rule Remix Easy Eight Album
To get started, gather your page kit and components kit, then purchase and download the Easy Eight Album Instructions.
To replicate my project, substitute Kids Rule papers for the Under the Sea shown in the instructions. (Find a list of exact paper substitutions at the end of this post.) Next, trim and sort the papers. Once all of the trimming is complete, use Tricia's Under the Sea completed samples as inspiration to finish your inside pages.
Album Assembly
I chose the Red and Blue to create the outside covers. Simply wrap the trimmed pieces around the pre-cut book board provided in the components kit, insert the page protectors, and use the three rings to bind the album.
Decorate the front cover with a cutapart, a star charm tied with baker's twine, and a building block heart.
The Block Print on the inside covers is a fun surprise when the book is opened. If the album is a gift, add a journaling cutapart tucked into a black coin envelope to the inside back cover. It's a great place to note the album's creator and the occasion (or reason) for the gift.
When creating the inside pages, it's important to remember the Kids Rule Cutaparts are different from the Under the Sea version. During the page assembly process, feel free to rearrange some of the trimmed elements, using them in different locations, if needed. Don't be afraid to mix things up when trimming select 3.5x12" pieces (left from trimming 8.5x11 base papers).
Layout 1 & 2
Use border strips, cutaparts and star tags to embellish this page pair. Full-size photo mats are trimmed from the four remaining 12x12s included in a special release kit. (Monthly kits feature a dozen pre-cut photo mats.)
Layout 3 & 4
Fussy cut the cupcake image from the cutaparts. Adhere to the Mini Coin Envelope along with a Dot Print scrap. Staple Red ribbon to the top of a journaling tag to tuck inside.
Layout 5 & 6
Trim cutaparts as needed to fit the 11x8.5" page format. Tuck the edge of the journaling strip underneath a photo mat.
Layout 7 & 8
Trim the "more" cutapart to fit the height of the landscape page. Embellish with a blue building block heart. ON the right page, crop the "braver" cutapart to fit the front of the Mini Coin Envelope. Top a journaling cutapart tag with Red Ribbon and tuck it inside.

Additional Tips
- The Kids Rule Cutaparts are different from Under the Sea. Regardless of which page kit you choose to make your album, be sure to use the printed artwork on the Cutaparts as your guide.
- In the case of #9 and #10, I cut an 8.5x11 from each 12x12, then trimmed the leftover 3.5x12" pieces differently than the instructions to better accommodate the artwork and Cutaparts.
- I did not utilize the bonus first and last pages.
