Create a stunning altered tag when you pair simple inking techniques with August's Vines Stamps.
Vines Altered Tag
Stamp the large leafy tendril image around the perimeter of a white shipping tag with Leaf Ink.
Apply Leaf Ink to the outer edges with an Ink Applicator Brush.
Continue adding color with the brush until all of the edges are covered.
Apply Spruce Ink just along the outer edges of the tag to create definition.
Add the grape leaf image with Spruce Ink. Be sure to leave an open area in the center of tag for your chosen sentiment.
Dip a wet paint brush (or water brush) into green watercolor medium. Flick the color over the tag to create a splatter effect.
Apply more green watercolor to the tip of the brush and add larger drops of color directly to the tag as shown.
Once the surface of the tag is completely dry, add a stamped sentiment and embellishment as desired. Top with gingham ribbon.
There are so many different techniques to choose from when making altered tags. It's a great way to experiment with new and new-to-you techniques, while playing with your favorite stamps, stencils, and dies. I've been making them for some time.
