Create a gorgeous Ivy League mini tag featuring an emboss resist background and a delicate paper flower cluster.
Each year at our Annual Wisconsin Retreat, attendees create small works of art for an Ice Breaker Swap. It is such a fun way to get to know your fellow Retreaters! This year we were asked to make mini tags.
Mini Tag Tutorial
Stamp the entire tag with the math script image and Earth Hybrid Ink. Make sure the ink is dry before moving on to the next step.
Add the fleur-de-lis image over the script with embossing ink. Sprinkle the images with clear embossing powder and heat set to melt.
Blend a layer of Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide Ink over the entire tag with a brush or ink applicator tool.
Flick water over the tag and remove excess with a paper towel, lifting the ink off of the embossed areas. I love how the clear embossed areas reveal the script beneath.
Attach a Bronze Filigree Charm to the front of the tag with a brad. Add the Ivy League Page Ribbons to the top of the tag.
Punch a variety of flowers from the Ivy League Plain Papers. (I followed this shabby flower technique to create each blossom.)
Die cut small green branches and distress the edges with Spruce Hybrid Ink.
Assemble the flower cluster on the tag and adhere with hot glue. Dot each flower center with Platinum Liquid Pearls.
Let's take one more look at the completed mini tag.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and it has inspired you to create your own miniature work of art!
