Create fabulous backgrounds using stamps, stencils or art mediums combined with these fun splatter techniques.
The Daffodils Stamps feature a fantastic dappled image perfect for adding just the right amount of splatter to any card or page.
Splatter Techniques -
Splatters can be made in a number of ways. Here are just a few of my favorites.Stamped splatters with Gelatos -
Color a Wildflowers stamp with Gelatos.
Spritz with water and stamp onto mixed media paper.
Allow the panel to dry completely before adding stamped Wildflowers images. Add even more splatters with a dusting of Lamp Black Color Burst powders and then spritz with water.
Splatters with acrylic paint -
I first learned this fun technique during a 2010 Retreat workshop taught by Michael Strong.
Choose three colors of acrylic paint. Paint large random strips of color onto a 12x12" white paper.
Lay the paper inside a deep sided cardboard box and splatter with dark brown paint. Allow the paper to dry completely before moving on to the next step.
Create a set of cards following Tricia's Bonus Card Formula and embellish with Daffodils hybrid digital printed elements. I chose to pair the painted paper with Daffodils Brown and Green 12x12" papers.
Cut these papers according to the instructions and assemble.
Let's take a look at the finished set of cards.
