You Go, Girl made its debut yesterday, and I wanted to share its story!
(But first, remember, this is a special edition kit and will not be shipped automatically.)
Our creative team is always finding fun quotes and expressions that are perhaps a bit too sassy for a general audience. But it doesn't prevent us from saving them for those moments when we need to lighten the day and laugh a little. Or a lot.
One of the most-requested remixes is the cheerful Fizz kit, originally released in January of 2007. The combination of the pink, orange, white, gray and black color palette with its whimsical designs made it perfect for our sassy remix! We selected the quotes, incorporated our fun pink/orange duplex papers and a gorgeous metallic black paper (made in Italy), and set Jacqueline to work on the project. Even our printer got a kick out of the artwork and said so when they delivered the papers. We also asked Jacqueline to design the page kit so it can easily be transformed into greeting cards. If you take a closer look at the cutaparts, you'll notice that all of the shapes and sizes (even the border strips) are scaled and adaptable to 5x7 and 4.25x5.5" card bases! How clever is that?

LAYOUTS 1 & 2
Above, note that the border strip at the bottom of the layout is trimmed and split across the gap. Make the cut on the left side of the quote, and you're good to go. Trim a length of pink grosgrain ribbon slightly wider than the cutapart, add a knot to the ribbon, wrap, and tape the ends on the back. Sweet! Punch the printed circle from the cutapart, adhere to the flattened bottle cap, top with an epoxy sticker, and adhere to the same spot on the cutapart.
Add a bit of waxed linen thread (not included) to the top of this adorable charm and place it inside a circle on the print.
LAYOUTS 3 & 4
The heart and dots were printed on the cutapart. Simply punch with a 1" circle punch, adhere to the bottle cap, and put back in its spot.
LAYOUTS 5 & 6
Same bottle cap trick below. So cute! Be sure to realign the artwork. It creates a nifty optical illusion.
Oh, I just love this. Reminds me of those mornings when I forget to put the filter in the coffeemaker. I really should take a picture of that mess next time and use it on this layout.
Wrap the chiffon ribbon around the bottom of the cutapart. And remember, if you have more photos for a layout, you can always place them on top of the cutaparts!
Adhere the charm onto the 1.25" square cutapart nested onto the 1.5" square. I had a 1.5x12" black strip of paper leftover during my layout planning process, and I couldn't believe my good fortune that it fit behind those squares!

I. Can't. Even. I like how Jacqueline separated the words into individual cutaparts. It sort of adds to the effect, don't you think?
