Create dramatic backgrounds with the Joseph's Coat technique. I have explored this technique once before with another favorite tropical themed collection called Paradise. It doesn't surprise me that I chose to try it again with Tropicale. Lisa decided to go in a completely different direction and chose to use the gorgeous Woodland Christmas Stamps for her card samples.

Joseph's Coat Spotlight Technique
Version 1 - Hybrid Inks

Add Hybrid Inks to a 3.75x5" white panel in Tangerine, Ocean, Lagoon, and Leaf Inks. Make sure the inks are completely dry before moving on to the next step.

Stamp the Tropicale collage image in Watermark Ink. Sprinkle the image with fine clear embossing powder to ensure full coverage.

Dust off any excess powder and heat set to melt.

Swipe Onyx Ink directly from the pad over the embossed image.

Wipe away the excess ink from the image with a damp cloth or paper towel.

Version 2 - Distress Oxide Inks

Add Antique Linen, Fired Brick and Peeled Paint Distress Oxides to Super Smooth Ivory panels. Make sure the inks are completely dry before moving on to the next step. Due to the nature of these inks, it may be necessary to rub the panel with an anti-static pouch.

Stamp Woodland Christmas images on the panel with Watermark Embossing ink. Dust the panel with clear embossing powder, tap off the excess powders, and heat set to melt.

Rub the panel with a Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink pad with the direct to paper technique.

We hope you enjoy experimenting with this technique as much as we did. Happy Stamping!
