Create gorgeous cards and a jumbo tag with the Tropicale Stamps. The results can range from simple to over the top with the addition of die cuts and embossing.

Tropicale Stamps

Card 1

Tropicale Stamps Card

Stamp the tropical flora images on a mixed media paper panel with Watermark ink. Sprinkle with white embossing powder and heat set to melt. Apply Distress Inks over the embossed images to creaeteto a resist. Remove the wet ink from the images with a baby wipe.

Card 2

Stamp the Birds of Paradise onto a long panel with Ash Ink. Add color to the flowers with watercolor pencils. Blend the colors with a water brush. Paint the background with a light blue color wash. Dip the water brush in light blue watercolor and tap the side of the brush over the background to create the speckling effect. Slide a sentiment panel into slits made with a craft knife to add dimension.

Card 3

Add the large collage image to a black panel with Watermark Ink. Sprinkle the image with white embossing powder and heat set to melt. I love how dramatic the white embossing pops from the black background.

Card 4

Stamp the collage image on a mixed media paper panel with India Ink. Watercolor pencils are perfect for adding gorgeous shading and detail to the image.

Card 5

Spritz water on a white mixed media paper panel. Add the leaves and flower images to the wet panel in a variety of Distress Inks. I chose to work with Rustic Wilderness, Spiced Marmalade, and Mermaid Lagoon. The inks will wick and move around on the paper. Dry the panel completely with a heat tool.

Stamp over each image again with the coordinating ink color. Dip a waterbrush into the ink and tap lightly over the panel to add speckles.

Add the sentiment in the open spaces with India Ink.

Card 6

Trim a second ALOHA panel into strips to create the Floating Herringbone card. Visit the blog for a detailed technique tutorial.

Card 7

Add left over strips from the Floating Herringbone card to a white panel and balance with a sentiment stamped with Lagoon ink. Finish with Clear Nuvo Drops to mimic tiny water droplets.

Card 8

Emboss the green panel with a fun fern 3-D folder that coordinates perfectly with the foliage stamps. Don't forget the inside of the card, too. Stamp the sentiment and leaf images in on a green panel with India Ink.

Jumbo Tag

Lay the jumbo tag in a spray tray (aka empty Club Scrap pizza box) and spritz generously with Leaf Green and Lagoon Stipple Mists. Dry the panel with a heat tool and then spritz very lightly with Opaque White Stipple Mist.

Distress the edges of the tag with Lagoon Hybrid Ink. Adhere the tag to Blue paper and trim to an 1/8" reveal on all sides of the tag. Embellish with an ALOHA strip, die cut ferns and hibiscus, stamped sentiment and the adorable cockatoo. Fussy cut the bird and add dimension with foam adhesive circles.

I hope the Tropicale Stamps inspire you to create lots of cards and tags. Happy Stamping!
