Create faux postage with the You've Got Mail Postage Stencil!
There are so many fun ways to create the look of a common postage stamp. Here is a technique to try with this month's collection.
Faux Postage Technique
Trace the three small rectangle shapes onto the top edge of a Post-it note. (This is the area with the removable adhesive strip.)
Trim them with scissors to create three masks.
Lay the deckle-edged openings of the stencil onto a Kraft panel. Place each mask into the centers of the openings.
Sponge these areas with White Pigment ink.
Remove the stencil, sprinkle the panel with white embossing powder, and heat set to melt.
Place the rectangular openings of the stencil over the embossed images. Add a variety of images from the You've Got Mail Stamps in Sapphire, WoW Red, Spruce, and Earth Hybrid ink colors. Tip: Cover adjacent openings of the stencil with clear tape to avoid inky accidents.
Align the top of the stamp shaped opening with the bottom of the embossed image. Add a hint of Earth ink to create a drop shadow beneath each faux stamp.
Continue to decorate the Kraft panel with stamped and stenciled images.
Complete the card with a metal envelope charm tied with a black fiber bow and adhered with Bookbinding Glue dispensed from a Needle-tipped Applicator.
Let's take another look at the finished card.
