I couldn't wait to finish my You've Got Mail layouts! I have a soft spot for all things "postal". Old letters, vintage postcards and stamps, old-fashioned mail bags and mailboxes. Our family has strong postal ties: The Mike-man has been with USPS for over 25 years. My son has been a letter carrier for almost a year. An aunt, as well as several uncles and cousins work for the postal service. My dad and his brothers helped build the post office where my grandmother was postmaster for a few years. Now you know why I'm so excited about the You've Got Mail collection!
YOU'VE GOT MAIL LAYOUTS
My advice? Don't let yourself get stumped by the theme! I purposely challenged myself to "think outside the box" when choosing photos for my pages.
Layout 1 & 2
"Fragile", "Special Delivery" and "Handle with Care" are all ideal sentiments for photos of my friend's twin granddaughters.
Use a craft knife and mat to trim around the edge of the letter image, tuck photo underneath.
Layout 3 & 4
Let the colors and sentiments guide you when choosing pics for your pages.
I lacked photos small enough to fill the tiny square mats, so I printed elements from the You've Got Mail hybrid kit and trimmed them to fit.
Stamp "hugs" sentiment onto kraft envelope using Earth hybrid ink.
Layout 5 & 6
Unsure about a particular sentiment? Treat the Cutapart as a photo mat! Just trim a photo 1/4" smaller.
Fill open spaces with printables from the hybrid kit. Here I added the cancellation border strip to the right side of the page.
Layouts 7 & 8
More sweet baby pics!
My stenciled airmail border was completely crooked, and it was driving me crazy. The solution? Print the airmail strip from the hybrid kit and adhere as a clever cover-up!
I hope my pages inspire you to look at the You've Got Mail page kit in a whole new light. Can you see the potential?
