After trimming just three sheets of paper, I assembled the layout below.
Sea Breeze Bonus Page Formula - with photos
I sorted through my printed photos and wanted to highlight some of the boating we did last summer on the Fox River. (The river is not sea-like, by any stretch of the imagination, but I thought it worked perfectly with July's collection!)
I was suffering a bad case of "verticalitis" on this particular day. I only had one horizontal photo to work with, but three spots. Take a closer look at how a pair of cropped vertical photos were fit onto the horizontal mat. The photo on the left measures 2-7/8x3-3/4" and the photo on the right is 2-3/4x3-3/4".
The 8x8" Grid Ruler helps determine the proper measurements. Begin with the image width that is least negotiable and trim as you wish. Next, place the cropped photo onto the mat. Use the grid ruler to measure the total remaining space from the edge of the photo to the edge of the mat. Subtract 1/4" from the measurement and crop the second photo to that width.
To finish the layout, I simply added a few starfish...
...some adorable dots from the original Sweet Tooth kit...
... several stamped images...
...gold coins, and a partridge in a pear tree. Wait, sorry. That's an eagle nesting on a telephone pole.
