The Sprouts Cards include four each of three designs. This month, we'll create a simple, single fold card structure, four slimline cards, and four clever "bay window" style cards.
I love the ribbon and embellishments included in this kit. All of the items we've selected are nice and flat, so you won't have to worry about applying extra postage to drop these cards in the mail. (And we always include the envelopes, as well!)
All of our monthly card kits come with a video workshop and downloadable instructions. A link to the video can be found on page one of the document. Even if you feel comfortable with trimming and preparing all the papers on your own, take a few minutes to watch the card assembly tips, especially if there is a card structure that is new to you!
Sprouts Card Set A
The Sprouts cards in Set A include multiple nesting panels. If you happen to have a coordinating embossing texture folder, run the plain panel through your machine to add a little "extra." Keep all of your paper scraps handy after completing the paper trimming process. Here, I trimmed a narrow Lt. Green strip to 5.25" and used it to anchor the cutapart sentiment, ribbon, and matte gold leaf sequins.
Sprouts Card Set B
We've been creating 3.5x8.5" cards for more than a decade, but we're happy to see the newly popular "slimline cards" get a little more love these days! When you follow my paper trimming instructions, you'll trim four 12x12 sheets to create the majority of the required pieces for the cards. This makes it easy to recycle the formula with papers of your own!
Prior to adhering the three cutapart squares to the front of the card, create a small loop of ribbon and tape to the back of the square. Layer onto the card with foam adhesive.
Sprouts Cards Set C
I spent several hours perfecting this 5x7" card formula. I wanted to avoid using eighth-inch measurements and finally got it figured out after several failed attempts. You'll trim four sheets of 12x12 paper in the most ideal way possible, creating the card base and all of the panels from one sheet. Next, simply interchange the colors, score the panels, and assemble! The card mails flat, but the 1/2" flap on the right edge tucks behind the inner sentiment to create a lovely shape.
If the Sprouts Cards aren't already queued up to ship to you, it's not too late to join. At just $21.95 for the kit and workshop, it's a deal that can't be beat!
See you in class . . .
