Club Scrap released three new card workshop kits this week. Each workshop is designed to transform five 12x12 papers into six greeting cards in about an hour. These 6 in 60 kits include the papers as well as printed Cutapart greetings, and ribbon to finish each card. Keep reading for tips on how to repurpose the cutting formulas to create more cards featuring the Meadow collection.

Meadow Cards

6 in 60 Happy Hour Cards with Meadow

After making the 6 in 60 Happy Hour set, I was inspired to create another batch of cards with papers from my stash.

Creating new cards from an existing formula is easy: First, gather five 12x12 papers, some favorite stamps, and ribbons. Next, substitute papers for those listed in the Happy Hour instructions and follow the cutting formulas to trim the pieces. Finally, assemble the cards using the finished card photos as a guide, adding stamped sentiments, artwork ribbons and other embellishments as desired.

To recreate my cards, use the following paper substitutions:

Paper A, B, C (Plains): Roost Brick, Meadow Gold and Brown
Print: Meadow Ivory Print
Cutapart: Plain White for stamping

Completing the process creates two each of three different card structures, for a total of six 4.25 x 5.5" cards.

Set A - Single-fold Cards

Stamp sentiments and images (Meadow Stamps) with Earth Hybrid ink. Color the flowers with a water brush dipped in Yellow and Amethyst Hybrid inks.

Inside each card, add a matted sentiment accented with a printed scrap.

Set B - Double Z-Fold Cards

Create backgrounds for the long narrow panels. Begin by applying Earth ink to the Meadow Rushes Stencil with an ink applicator brush. Next, stamp a variety of images with Earth, Mahogany, and Sandstone Hybrid ink. For each square white panel, stamp a second-generation floral image (Earth ink), and top with the sentiment stamped in India ink. Apply black watercolor to a water brush and lightly tap the brush over the panels to create a splatter effect.

Inside, stamp the largest bloom in Mahogany and the sentiment in India ink. Add a light touch of green to the leaves with Leaf ink applied with a water brush.

Set C - Split Flap Cards

Create a background for each plain white panel using the steps described above.

Add sentiments stamped in India ink to the panels on the open flap and interior of the card.

So what do you think? I just love this trio of card styles. Everything came together so quickly, and with hardly any scraps!
