The new Dia de los Muertos Pages provide a fun way to commemorate your celebrations. Remember, this is a special release and will not be shipped to you automatically, so no need to worry if this isn't your thing!
The "Day of the Dead" is a Mexican holiday extending from October 31 to November 2. People gather together to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. In 2017, Disney/Pixar released a movie inspired by Dia de los Muertos called "Coco." It's a story about a 12-year-old boy who is accidentally transported to the Land of the Dead, and he seeks the help of his deceased great-great-grandfather to return him to his family among the living.
The traditions of the holiday and movie provided inspiration for this special release. We hope the collection honors the wishes of those who have passionately requested this theme for many consecutive years! Let's take a closer look at the completed layouts.
Dia de los Muertos Pages
LAYOUTS 1 & 2
We couldn't resist including a three-pack of these silver sugar skull charms. Apply a thin line of CS® Bookbinding Glue along the outside edges of the charm to adhere to your pages.
The combination of bright colors, images, ribbons, tags and embellishments is perfect!
LAYOUTS 3 & 4
The red roses come with a green center. Simply disassemble the center of the rose and remove all of the parts of the stem. Thread the petals of the flower onto a brad and secure onto the layout for a beautiful, low-profile embellishment.
Trim a 2" piece of black velvet ribbon, fold in half, and secure to the top of the black tags with a mini brad from your stash.
LAYOUTS 5 & 6
The tag on this page is the same size as the others. Simply cut the tag in half and hide the gap behind the vertical cutapart. Top the tag with metallic red satin ribbon.
Add the laser cut sugar skull to the nested mat on the upper right corner of the layout.
LAYOUTS 7 & 8
Create a lively and colorful layout by using a large assortment of printed cutaparts accented with red roses.
Cut along the edge of the sugar skull with a cutting mat and craft knife to allow the photo mat to slide beneath.
Just like the Oktoberfest page kit, the Dia de los Muertos collection does not include pre-cut photo mats. Instead, we've added four extra sheets of 12x12 paper. I've incorporated the "scraps" from those sheets into the finished pages for an extra boost of color and dimension.
Enjoy, and adios!
