My youngest son was married in early September, and we're anxiously awaiting snaps from the photographer. While I wait, I had to decide what type of handmade book I'd make to store and display the photos. We have so many wonderful album options to choose from that I almost forgot about the Photo Drop Box project altogether! However, in this case, I think a photo box is the perfect option for Max and Emma's wedding photos.
Tie the Knot Photo Drop Box
To get started, gather the supplies listed below. (You can always substitute the Tie the Knot Page Kit for another collection to better suit your special event or occasion.)

Once you've downloaded the written instructions, utilize the paper substitutions below for each step of the instructions. (Or you can always do your own thing!)

Box and Insert Construction
This project is separated into two video tutorials. In the first tutorial, you'll learn how to build the box structure and paint it to coordinate with your kit of choice.
In the second video, you'll trim, sort and score the papers. Once the papers are trimmed, you'll wrap the box and decorate with the cut panels. Finally, you'll assemble the inside pages and adhere them to the book spines.
Embellish
Once you've completed assembly, it's time for the really fun part—decorating! Trim cutaparts as needed to decorate the box and inserts.
Box Decor
The two short walls feature a trimmed border strip along with cutapart artwork mat with Green and attached with foam adhesive.
Paint the "Mr. and Mrs." woodcut with white acrylic paint adhere it to one long wall.
The opposite long wall is embellished with a cutapart sentiment (mat with Green) and a Chiffon Flower.
Inside Pages
The inside "pages" are attached to a spine piece that can be removed by lifting the small silver knob.
There are three spines; each spine holds a pair of trifold pages with space for a dozen or more photos—for a grand total of 36 photos.
Decorate the individual pages with prints, cutaparts, etc. To really maximize the number of photos, simply add mats to each page and keep embellishments to a minimum. I tried to achieve a nice balance of photo mats to embellies.
Attach a bit of ribbon to the top of a cutapart tag with a mini stapler*.
Add a 4.25x6.25 mat to each of the short flaps to maximize space for photos. Decorate the reverse side with border strips, sentiments and cutapart artwork.
If/when you run out of 4.25x6.25 mats, you can utilize the 4.25x5.75" scraps left over from the trimming process. Add a cutapart sentiment below with foam adhesive.
This collection is simply stunning! The neutral color palette will enhance almost any wedding color scheme. I can't wait to add Emma and Max's photos to this project. Someone tell the photographer to hurry up, LOL.
