The Photo Drop Box is a wonderful way to store and display special memories. After seeing how well my Algarve boat tour photos coordinated with the Vista page kit, I knew the project would be perfect for the remaining photos from that day.

Assembly and Decor
Follow the written instructions to assemble the box and inserts. If you've never created a project like this before, I highly recommend watching the video tutorial. Tricia shares helpful tips to make the process go smoothly.
Box Details
After building the box structure, camouflage the edges of the book board with black acrylic paint. Once dry, wrap the perimeter of the box with the Black paper (from Step 1) for a seamless look. I chose the gorgeous Mountain Print to decorate the four outside panels of the box.
Select and trim a border strip sentiment to fit one long wall on the outside of the box; adhere 1/4" Black paper strips above and below to visually anchor the cutapart.

Trim the edges of the center circle artwork from the die cut to fit the opposite long wall. (I plan to add die cut letters to spell out "Algarve" when I add photos from the boat tour to the inserts.)
The inside pages are attached to a spine piece that can be removed by lifting the small silver knob. There are three spines; each spine holds a pair of trifold pages with space for up to a dozen 4x6s, for a grand total of 36 photos.

Inside Pages
Before adding the silver knobs, cut three 1x6.5" strips from a Mountain Print scrap; nest onto each plain black spine for added interest and a bit of beautiful color.

To really maximize the number of photos the box will hold, simply add mats to the pages of each insert and keep the embellishments to a minimum. I made a real effort to achieve a nice balance of places for photos vs. the number of embellished pages.

Add a 4.25x6.25" mat to each of the short flaps to create additional space for full-sized photos. Decorate the reverse side with border strips, sentiments and cutapart artwork.

Tip: If/when you run out of 4.25x6.25 photo mats, utilize the 4.25x5.75" panels left over from the trimming process. For example, crop the panel to 4.25" square, and add a trimmed cutapart sentiment below it for balance.
