When a card, scrapbook page or project feels a little plain, jazz it up with the Simple Speckles technique.
Lisa and I had fun exploring all the different ways to add a bit of "speckle" to our artwork. We experimented with different tools paired with a variety art mediums, so there's something for everyone!
Simple Speckles Technique
Place a white panel in a spray tray (aka: empty Club Scrap pizza box).
Remove the nozzle from a Club Scrap Indigo Stipple Mist, tapping it on the lip of the bottle to remove any excess ink. Carefully hold the nozzle over the panel and tap the cap gently to transfer large speckles of color to the paper.
Continue to dip the nozzle back into the bottle and repeat the tapping motion until you're satisfied with the results.
Scribble Distress Crayons onto a non-stick craft mat and spritz with water to dilute the color.
Dip a Splatter Brush into the wet medium.
Flick the bristles to add light blue speckles to the panel. The size of the speckles is determined by the amount of color added to the brush, and the intensity of the "flicking" action.
Don't have a fancy Splatter Brush? No worries, an old toothbrush is a great substitute! Dip the bristles into the Distress Crayon/water mixture.
Hold the brush (bristles facing down) over the panel. Run your finger over the bristles to release a spray of color.
Let the panel dry completely before adding to a card or project.

Paris Flea Market Card - Lisa
Spray water onto a glass mat or other non-porous surface. Add a dusting of Pan Pastels to the water and mix with a paint brush. Tap the wet brush over a stamped card panel.
London Calling Card - Lisa
Dip a toothpick into alcohol ink and tap over a stamped panel. What a fun speckled background!
