Create a mixed media background and pair it with any Club Scrap sentiment stamp! The combinations of techniques and stamps are endless. Just ask long-time member Hetty Sanders!
While Hetty was preparing for a big move, she decided it was time to organize her stamps by year. Reorganization turned into playtime, and the Sentiment of the Day was born. She took on a daily personal challenge to use her Club Scrap stamps, pair them with a fun background technique, and turn each one into a gorgeous card!
For good reason, we were so inspired by Hetty's creations and decided to challenge ourselves (and you), too!
Sentiment Stamps Challenge
Choose any technique to create a unique background panel. I chose to create a simple inked stencil background with this month's Prism collection.
Stenciled Background
Adhere a white panel to the back of the Prism Abstract Stencil with clear tape.
Flip the stencil over and add Yellow Hybrid Ink with an Ink Applicator Brush. Work from the outside edge of the stencil inward making sure that the darkest concentration of color is along the edges.
Continue to add more color with the same technique (Red and Sapphire Hybrid Inks). Overlap the inks to create a nice blend between each shade.
Carefully remove the stencil and tape from the back of the panel and trim to 4x5.25".
Sentiment and Card Assembly
Stamp the sentiment onto a black panel with Embossing Ink.
Sprinkle the image with white embossing powder and heat set to melt. Trim the sentiment panel to 1-1/8 x 2 1/8".
Add ink to the word COLORFUL with Sharpie markers.
Cover a 1-3/8 x 2-3/8" white panel with several strips of Prism Silver Diamond Washi Tape.
Add foam circles to the back of the black sentiment panel.
Layer the sentiment onto the Washi Tape panel and adhere to the stenciled background panel. Add three tiny dots of Bookbinding Glue dispensed with a Needle-tipped Applicator onto the background.
Place three Hologram Sequins into the glue and allow to dry.
Let's take another look at the finished card.
