On October 17, Tricia taught the Gnome for Christmas Maze Book in a Box workshop. As with most Club Scrap kits, once the initial project is complete, it's easy to repurpose the instructions to make additional versions to suit any occasion or event.
Riverbend Maze Book in a Box
Make a clever Maze Book in an adorable storage box with papers and cutaparts from the Riverbend collection.
To complete the project, gather the following supplies:
Maze Book in a Box Instructions
(4) 12x12 Riverbend Plains
(1) Page Kit Cutaparts
12” Paper Trimmer
3x14" Grid Ruler
Bone Folder
ScorPal 1/8s (or other scoring tool)
Adhesive
Scissors
To replicate Tricia's book and box, use the following paper assignments: Aqua (Paper A), Dk. Green (Paper B), Teal (Paper C) and Lt. Green (Paper D.)
Trim, score, and sort all of the papers according to the instructions. Once the trimming is complete, assemble the maze book and box structures.
The final step is the most fun: Decorating! Trim the "happy place" sentiment tag to fit the nesting panel on the box cover. Fussy cut the fish image; adhere above the cutapart.
Trim panels from the Riverbend Card Print to decorate the inside of the box lid and base. Top with the circular images fussy cut from the Cutaparts sheet.
Decorate the book cover with a cropped "can't work today" sentiment strip.
After adding nesting panels, embellish select inside pages with trimmed cutapart artwork and journaling prompts.
The Maze Book in a Box is a quick and easy project, perfect for gifting. Make one for yourself as a keepsake to fill with photos or other memorabilia.
The original Gnome for Christmas Maze Book in a Box is still available in very limited quantities. Once your holiday version is complete, recycle the instructions to make additional variations as gifts to fit any season or any reason.
