Hello there! It is no secret that I love animals, so here I am once again with another project featuring the Wags And Whiskers collection. This time around I made the Petite Book Duo project, however, there's a twist!
For the last 16 years our local animal shelter, the Neenah Animal Shelter, has been hosting the Furry Flurry event to raise funds The Furry Flurry is their biggest fundraising event of the year featuring a 2k Pet Walk, Vendors, Lunch, Online Auction, 50/50 Raffle, and Raffle Baskets. I had the privilege of attending the event last year, and wanted to contribute in some way this year on behalf of the team here at Club Scrap.
What better way than to create a Raffle Basket featuring the Wags And Whiskers collection? As you know, my two greatest loves in life are pets and crafting. If you're local to the area, I recommend a visit to the event. Who knows, maybe you could win the awesome Club Scrap Basket all while supporting pets in our community!

Wags And Whiskers Petite Book Duo
Fun fact: I made this project after completing my Fresh Picked 5x7 U-Hinge Book— the scrap of mat board from that project is exactly what you need for this one! Even better, I had two because I had to remake the Fresh Picked cover... oops. I couldn't have planned that better if I tried!
This is yet another project that showcases the creative U-Hinge binding which allows for plenty of customization. One book measures 5.25" x 1" x 4.75" and has six pages that feature a trifold that expands to 12".

- Mat Board
- CS® Bookbinding Glue
- Needle-tipped Applicator
- 12” Paper Trimmer*
- 3x14" Grid Ruler
- Scor Pal 1/8s
- Accordion Pocket File Starter Kit (or Premade!)
- Bone Folder
- Foam Brush
- Adhesive (My preference! Use what you like 😊)
- Scissors*
- Pencil
Embellishment
Below is what I personally used to "gild the lily" on this project. Of course, you can always use whatever you want to make it your own, which I encourage!
Paper Assignments
For this project, one book utilizes half of a page kit, including embellishments. Since this is a special release, there are 4 extra sheets of paper to use for mats. I did include extra cutaparts and manila tags.
Wags:
- Paper A: Dark Brown
- Paper B, C, D - Inside Pages: Cream Speckle, Orange, Blue
- Paper E - Cover: Plaid Print
- Paper F: Paw Print
- Dog Cutaparts
Whiskers:
- Paper A: Dark Brown
- Paper B, C, D - Inside Pages: Blue, Orange, Cream Speckle
- Paper E - Cover: Paw Print
- Paper F: Plaid Print
- Cat Cutaparts
Any other scraps I shared between the two books as I saw fit.
Assembly & Decor
Follow along with Tricia in the workshop video and written instructions to construct the base of your Petite Duo Books. There, you will follow along to create the first book and have everything you need to follow suit with the second!
Cover Details
I decided to adorn the covers of each book with the respective woodcut for Wags and Whiskers. From there, I brushed Club Scraps Earth Ink over them to give it more wood-like appearance and finished them off with the jute and a paw charm. For clarity, I am calling the book with the Bone Woodcut "Wags" featuring the Dog Cutaparts, and the one with the Cat Woodcut "Whiskers" using the Cat cutaparts.
