A combination of metallic gold and mica-flecked handmade paper creates a gorgeous canvas for these versatile Kintsugi Pages.
You can see the layouts "live and in action" during this month's kit "unboxing" on the Club Scrap Facebook page. Next, read on for more more page details of interest.
Layouts 1 & 2
The Kintsugi Page Kit includes a tube of gold dimensional acrylic. The cutapart heart on the left has been "dimensionalized." Simply wait until the final step to apply the paint and set the page aside to dry, away from the family pets.
Here's a close-up of a painted heart cutapart used on Layouts 5 & 6. Feel free to add the acrylic to anything, as long as you can allow for a little drying time.
Layouts 3 & 4
This layout features several torn paper elements. During the paper prep, you'll separate the 12x12 Collage Print into four pieces. You can do this "freestyle" or with the help of a grid ruler. In this month's workshop video, I'll show you how to use a water brush to help soften the paper fibers in the handmade sheet to create a beautiful deckle edge.
Layouts 5 & 6
The collection includes three gorgeous ribbons, including a unique ivory grosgrain woven with metallic gold. You can skip punching a hole into the top of the tag-shaped cutapart. Simply trim a 2" piece of ribbon, fold in half, and staple onto the tag.
Layouts 7 & 8
Stretch a piece of the ivory/gold grosgrain across the border strip on the right side of the double page spread, and top with a drawstring organza bag. Slide a picture, memorabilia, or hidden journaling/memories into the bag, or simply layer an element on top of the bag as shown on layout two.
I hope you'll join us in seeing all of the potential found in the stunning Kintsugi pages. We've covered a lot of ground in 2020, and we can't think of a better way to complete our artistic year.
