Though each Club Scrap Page Kit creates eight coordinating pages, I rarely use all of them for a single occasion or event. I recommend looking at each two-page spread independently during the photo selection process.
Layout 1 & 2
The celebratory nature of these pages were perfect for documenting my grandson's second birthday. However, the pink clashed with his red "birthday boy" t-shirt and the "Cars" movie theme. Instead, I trimmed one Hot Summer Red to create the mats. I also substituted a full 12x12 Red for the Pink on the right page. It was a perfect match!
The cupcake toppers from Patrick's party were saved for potential page embellishments. I adhered them to left page In lieu of felt flowers.
Layout 3 & 4
Trimmed red mats appear on this two-page spread as well. (The cutapart title strips from Layout 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 are swapped.)
Another "Lightening McQueen" cupcake topper makes an appearance.
Layout 5 & 6
This layout features the remaining Hot Summer Red panels.
Since the rest of the layout didn't feature pink elements, I subbed the black/silver ribbon for the checked on the border strip.
I opted to skip the polka dot sheer ribbon because I didn't want to distract from the photo of Patrick's cake.
Layout 7 & 8
Finally, the arrangement of the last two pages remained unchanged.
The layout was perfect "as is" for photos of a family dinner at a local hibachi restaurant with my parents.
