The Steamworks Page Kit is not only perfect for creating lovely layouts but it can also be turned into a gorgeous frame!
The inspirational quotes on the Steamworks Stamp sheet...
...work in perfect harmony with the Page Kit and motivated me to make an 8x10" frame. It stands up on its own and will look great on my desk!
FRAME - Steamworks edition
Cut two 8x10" book board pieces with a Folding Utility Knife. Apply Bookbinding glue to one of the book board pieces and adhere to the second piece to create a double thickness. Glue old dictionary pages to both sides of the frame in a collage style.
To create a hinged frame stand, cut one 1.5x3 and one 3x6.5" piece of book board. Position a 5x10.5" strip of black paper onto your work surface, and center the two book board pieces onto the paper, leaving a .25" gutter between them. Glue the book board onto the paper, miter the corners, and wrap the flaps onto the boards.
Flip the hinged frame stand over and gently press the paper into the gutter with the pad of a finger. Apply Bookbinding Glue to the top portion of the stand and adhere to the back of the frame.
Center a 7.25x9.25" Brick Print onto the frame base with Bookbinding Glue.
Adding Embellishments
Fussy cut elements from the Steamworks 12x12 Cutaparts and adhere to the bottom of the frame. Use the "0" center of a grid ruler to assist with placement.
Trim a 1.5x8" border strip from the Ivory Print and glue across the top. Wrap Steamworks Fibers around the bottom of the frame.
Stamp quotes and other elements from the Steamworks Stamps onto old dictionary paper. Tuck the "Fearless..." sentiment inside the Steamworks Vintage Envelope and adhere to the frame.
Attach stamped quotes with Foam Adhesive to add dimension.
Continue to embellish with the Steamworks Bronze Key Charm, Bronze Clock Charms, and Gear Charms.
The Steamworks Page Kit holds the key to many wonderful projects. I can't wait to see what you create with yours!
