Create the look of rusted metal with this fun technique.

After discovering this tutorial on Pinterest, I knew I wanted to try it on a piece of die cut Creative License Gunmetal paper.

Gather Mod Podge and acrylic paints in two shades of brown and light green and an old paint brush.

IMG_4698

Pounce dark brown paint randomly onto the die cut paper leaving areas of the Gunmetal paper showing.

IMG_4672

Add light brown sparingly over the dark brown paint.

IMG_4673

Dab on Modge Podge matte medium over the painted areas.

IMG_4675

While still wet, run to the spice rack and grab ground cinnamon (yes, you read that right) and sprinkle over the paper.

Add further dimension using a heat tool which will cause the mixture to bubble and blister.

Add a faux patina by dabbing light green paint onto several areas of the paper.

Create a layout with the Faux Rusted Gunmetal featured as an embellishment.

Create a title block with the Creative License digital kit and digi scrapbooking software. Print onto white paper, crop and add to the layout.
