The Expeditions Card Kit will show you quite a bit of magic. Turn a pretty pack of 12x12 papers into twelve amazing cards with virtually no waste!
In case you can't tell, I'm super-excited about our new, innovative kit format! Granted, up front it's a brain-bender for me to figure out how all of the papers will be trimmed for maximum usage. But it's a terrific feeling when it all comes together.
Here's a quick preview of the Expeditions Card Kit video tutorial. It will really help you grasp the new concepts, plus you'll master the nifty never-ending card!
Card Set A
I love this paper saving card format. The base is a single piece of 4.25x5.5" paper. Layer a narrow, scored strip to the center and top with a second panel. Finish with a tiny, ribbon-topped manila tag. All of the cutaparts and nesting panels puzzle into the mix with perfection! And that should be celebrated.
Card Set B
This sweet bow tie card structure is deceptively simple. Cut a 1.5" slit into the edge of the card and fold at an angle to the nearest corner. The blue panel behind the map print provides contrast for the sentiment, sticker, and cutapart. Tuck a piece of folded twill behind the bow tie flap for a cute finishing touch.
Card Set C
Please don't let this interactive card frighten you. Assembly is so easy and the fun never ends! You'll make two vertical and two horizontal cards in this style. Each panel will be decorated with a matted sentiment.
There is an impressive pile of trimmed pieces used in this card set. The printable instructions include a visual of each side of the card, so you'll know where every piece goes. This is what you'll see when you open the above card by folding outward from the center.
And then when you split the card outward from the middle, you'll see this:
Finally, here is the back of the card. When you open from the center, the front of the card will appear once again. It's flippin' awesome.
When you complete these cards, I sincerely hope you'll feel empowered and inspired to give it another go with papers and materials from your stash. You've got this!
It's not too late to add the Expeditions Card Kit to your existing Page Kit membership. (Read more about the page kit on yesterday's blog.) Or, if you're not a member, please join us on this fun adventure.
