With the help of our 9x9 U-Hinge Book online class, it's easy to transform any CS® Page kit and two sheets of Folding Board into a lovely handmade album. The 16-page book features Club Scrap's unique U-Hinge binding and it's handy size makes it perfectly portable. It also makes a great gift!

Color Crush 9x9 U-Hinge Book
The vivid hues and whimsical florals of the Color Crush collection provides a fun backdrop for all of your memories.
To get started, gather an October 2026 Page Kit and two sheets of 12x12 Black Folding Board. Next, purchase and download the 9x9 U-Hinge Book instructions.
If you'd like to make a book similar to Tricia's, utilize the following paper substitutions when sorting and trimming your papers:
- Paper A, B = Green, Yellow
- Paper C, D = Blue, Pink
- Paper E = Small Flower Print
- Paper F = Large Flower Print
Follow the instructions provided in the project download to assemble the book structure. Tricia's accompanying video tutorial is a "must watch"— she will guide you through the entire process, start to finish. After assembly, use the one remaining 12x12 Small Flower Print and other leftover papers and embellishments to decorate the book as desired.
Book Cover
Select two 3" Pink scraps to trim to 3x9" for the front and back covers. Mat the two tall, narrow cutaparts with Green panels. Adhere a Flower Pendant to the bottom of one cutapart with Bookbinding Glue.
Inside Pages
The unique U-Hinge binding allows plenty of opportunity to be extra generous when adding photos and embellishments to the pages.
Let's take a visual tour of the interior of the book:
Distribute the precut photo mats throughout the album. Add cutaparts and smaller mats (trimmed from scraps) to fill in the open spaces.
Top a journaling cutapart with stapled ribbon; adhere a fussy-cut flower below with foam adhesive.
Tie a bit of ribbon to the top of the flower-shaped tag, top with a cutapart removed from the sheet with a stitched circle die.*
All of the 3x12 and 2.75x12" scraps can be easily transformed into mats or nesting panels for the short pages. The Polka Dot bag makes a perfect pocket for more photos or journaling.
Treat the inside back cover like an extra "page"; add a Polka Dot Bag and nest the tall, narrow journaling cutapart onto a Folding Board scrap to tuck inside.
