With the help of our new 9x9 U-Hinge Book online class, it's easy to transform any CS® Page kit and two sheets of Folding Board into a gorgeous handmade album, ready for photos. The 16-page book features Club Scrap's unique U-hinge binding and it can easily accommodate 40 or more photos.
Rustique 9x9 U-Hinge Book
Tricia couldn't resist making this awesome project with Club Scrap's September 2026 Rustique collection. The finished book is breathtaking in person—the photos don't really do it justice.
To get started, gather a September Page Kit and two 12x12 Black Folding Board. Next, purchase and download the 9x9 U-Hinge Book instructions.
If you'd like to replicate Tricia's album, utilize the following paper substitutions when sorting and trimming your papers:
- Paper A, B = Tan, Brown
- Paper C, D = Teal, Orange
- Paper E = Rust Print
- Paper F = Teal Print
Follow the instructions and video tutorial provided in the online class to assemble the book structure. Tricia's expert guidance makes it easy and fun. After assembly, use the remaining paper and embellishments to decorate the book as desired.

Select and trim two Teal scraps to accompany the Rust Print for the front and back covers.
Cut the 3x12 sentiment cutapart to 2.5x8.5"; mat with Orange. Center the sentiment onto the Teal spine. Choose an antique brass Key Charm from the kit and adhere it to the cutapart with Bookbinding Glue.
Spine and Binding
The spine measures just over an inch thick; the book has 16 pages with room for 40+ snaps.
The unique U-Hinge binding allows plenty of wiggle room so you can load it up with matted photos and dimensional embellishments.
Inside Pages
Disperse the 4.25x6.25" photo mats you created evenly throughout the book. Trim 12" long scraps as needed to create border accents. Even 1/4" scraps don't go to waste!
Sprinkle a little "sparkle" throughout the album with Hardware Dazzles stickers. You can see how the "screws" add realistic visual dimension to the label holder cutapart below.
Distress the edges of select cutaparts with a Paper Distressing Tool*. Trim leftover papers into smaller mats to make the most of the space on each page.
Top tag cutaparts with snippets of ribbon and a tiny stapler*.
Even the inside back cover gets the decorative treatment!
Anchor cutapart artwork with Orange and Teal strips; round the corners with the 3 in 1 Corner Rounder punch. Top each strip with faux "chain" from the Hardware Dazzles stickers.
