Create unique backgrounds with elastics, Club Scrap® Hybrid Inks and the Band-It Technique. Gather a few simple supplies and give this different kind of 'rubber' stamping a try!

Band-It Technique

Faux Water

Wrap several elastic "rubber" bands around a clear acrylic stamping block. Allow the bands to be twisted and overlapped in some areas.

Gather ink in three colors; I chose Lt. Blue, Ocean and Blueberry for my first background.

Stamp the Lt. Blue Ink onto a white panel as shown.

Add Ocean Ink to the bands and stamp onto the paper, overlapping the Lt. Blue areas.

Finally, stamp the third color, Blueberry, concentrating on the areas closest to the edges of the panel. This creates the illusion of depth.

Stamp the background panel with images and a sentiment (Cabana 03.26). Adhere to a nesting panel and folded card base. Embellish as desired.

Plaid

For the second background, gather the following ink colors: Wine, Caramel, and Sapphire.

Wrap the elastic bands around the acrylic block, but this time, position the bands flat and more evenly spaced on the block.

Apply Caramel Ink to the bands and stamp several times to create stripes on a white panel as shown.

Repeat with Wine Ink.

Complete the panel with an application of Sapphire Ink, but this time stamp the line art vertically across the first set of horizontal lines.

Adhere the background to a red folded card panel. Stamp the lighthouse and sentiment (Coastal 07.23) on white; crop and adhere to the panel to complete the card.

Diagonal Stripes

Lisa created this fun background that reminded me of fireworks! Achieve this look by applying Red and Blueberry ink to the bands and stamping them in a criss-cross fashion. Add red Star Dazzles, a die cut star, and a sentiment strip from the Vista Card Cutaparts to make the perfect Father's Day card.

Repeat the background to create a second card. Finish with a die cut and embossed star, Dazzles and a stamped sentiment. A great way to celebrate our nation's 250th birthday!
