The Turquoise Pages feature such beautiful textures and tones. I fell in love with all types of turquoise while attending the largest gem show in the world held every year in Tucson, AZ. Have you been?
I can see this kit perfectly showcasing any outdoor event, and it would also be ideal for Alaskan cruise photos. (The glaciers are a stunning shade of turquoise!)
We'll discuss a few simple techniques in this month's video. If you haven't had a chance, take a look at a preview of our workshop.
And now, read on to learn a little bit more about the Turquoise pages.
Layouts 1 & 2
I couldn't bear to part with a single scrap of the metallic Gold paper. Cut a point into each end of the 1/2" strip and layer it behind a journaling prompt. Then, nest one of the turquoise gems onto a bronze setting, and top with a waxed linen bow. (The gems and settings would also make a gorgeous pair of earrings!)
Cut a triangle into one end of the other "scrap" and use it to highlight the adorable turquoise tassel. Accent with three additional white gems.
Layouts 3 & 4
Wrap the page title twice with 1/8" white grosgrain ribbon and tie the ends into a small bow. Adhere three red cabochons with CS® Bookbinding Glue. (Equally space them with the help of a grid ruler.) Glue a red tassel beneath each cabochon.
Remove the center of the frame on the cutapart with a craft knife and cutting mat. Nest the frame onto a 4.25x6.25 Red photo mat. Cut the inner portion of the frame in half vertically and set it aside for the next set of pages.
Layouts 5 & 6
Slide one half of the inner frame behind the Gold strip on the left side of the page. Cute, right? Accent the cutapart title with red cabochons and a teal tassel.
Layouts 7 & 8
Create a three-part bow from the metallic turquoise ribbon and add it to the bottom of the gorgeous cutapart frame on the bottom of the left page. Glue three turquoise gems to the title strip, again using the ruler to help with spacing.
