Perform a bit of craft knife magic to create the illusion of dimension on these super simple cards.
Craft Knife Magic Cards
Stamp the Aviary leaves and birdhouse images onto a 3.75x5" In Bloom Pink panel.
Color the birdhouse with white gesso and a paint brush. Allow the paint to dry completely before moving on to the next step.
Enhance the outline and details of the birdhouse with a black marker.
Cut slits along the roof and base of the birdhouse image with a craft knife and cutting mat.
Apply color to the Aviary long stem stamp with Peridot ink.
Kiss the wet stamp with the Aviary leaves stamp to add texture to the image.
Add the images to a 1x5" In Bloom Yellow strip.
Slide the yellow strip under the birdhouse and adhere to the pink panel. Embellish with an In Bloom sequin and flower gems.
Stamp a greeting with Permanent Jet Black ink onto the front of the card and layer onto a 4x5.25" yellow panel on a white folded card base.
Let's take a closer look at the finished card.
Duplicate the technique with a texture paste stamped panel featuring the Paradise collection.
Stamp the greeting onto the Paradise Blue strip prior to sliding it behind the pineapple.
I hope you are inspired to create a bit of magic on your next card! The same technique can be used on our 12x12 prints when making scrapbook pages!
