Create a Washy Watercolor background with this fun technique paired with the Aviary collection. I found this video tutorial on Pinterest and couldn't wait to give it a try!
Washy Watercolor Technique Three Ways
CS® Hybrid Ink technique
Select a variety of Hybrid Inks.
Saturate a white mixed media panel with water.
Moving quickly, ink the Aviary leaf stamps with Hybrid colors in Red, Ocean, Lagoon, Leaf, and Tangerine.
Stamp onto the panel, cleaning off the stamp between each image impression.
Note: Less color bleeding occurs due to the composition of the inks.
Distress Ink technique
Repeat the same steps as Hybrid Ink technique.
Note: Significant color bleeding occurs due to the composition of the inks.
Stamped Stipple Mist technique
Spritz a variety of Stipple Mists onto a craft mat or nonporous surface. I chose to work with Lagoon, Cherry, Leaf, and Sunflower.
Saturate a white mixed media panel with water. Moving quickly, dip the stamp into the Stipple Mist color and press onto the wet panel. Clean off the stamp between after each application of color.
Note: Significant color bleeding occurs due to the composition of the mists. Create a second panel with the remaining Stipple Mists.
Create a card with the panels.
Make speckles with Stipple Mists added to a water brush and flick onto the panel.
Add the birdcage and sentiment images from the Aviary Stamps in Permanent Jet Black Ink. Stamp the bird in Ruby ink. Add the leaf cluster over the bird and fussy cut. Draw details with a fine tipped
Let's take another look at the finished card.
