Create a fabulous ATC (Artist Trading Card) with the stunning Shoji stamp set. I was inspired by Tricia's post and was anxious to share my sojourn into the art of Japanese folding known as origami. I found two tutorials on Pinterest, one for a kimono and the other for leaves. They add dimension and interest to my card.

Shoji ATC

Stamp the koi images onto a Purple panel in Watermark Ink

Cover the panel with a generous amount of embossing powder.

Tap the panel to remove the excess powder.

Heat set the powder to melt. Trim the panel to standard ATC size of 2.5x3.5".

Stamp the screen image onto a Red strip of paper with Ash Ink. Stamp again without reinking the image to create a shadow effect. Set the embossed card base and stamped strip aside.

Kimono Origami

Stamp the koi images onto a Gold die cut circle in Red Ink. Heat set to dry. Stamp crackle images from the Kinstugi stamp set onto the fish with White Pigment ink. Dust the wet ink with Perfect Pearls Pearl powder and buff with a dry soft cloth.

Be sure to watch this video tutorial while creating the origami kimono. Fold the circle in half with the stamped images on the outside.

Open the circle and fold in the side flaps.

Fold the top portion to the back of the piece.

Make matching angled folds down the sides of the piece. The corners of the widest folds will meet at the center of the kimono.

Press down on the widest points of the angled folds to form the sleeves.

Adhere two red strips to the front of the kimono with Bookbinding Glue dispensed from a Needle-tipped Applicator.

Make two leaves with hybrid prints from the 2017 Cherry Blossoms collection. Check out this video for details. Pop up the kimono with a double layer of foam circle adhesive.

Let's take a look at the finished Artist Trading Card.

Did you know that there is a monthly ATC swap hosted by my friend Lynn Levy on the Facebook Chat Group? It's a perfect way to share these tiny works of art with other Club Scrap enthusiasts, Happy Crafting!
