I just adore the Vintage Americana stamps! They're perfect for summer birthdays, and I plan to use them for my Father's Day cards, as well.

Each month when the sample sheet of stamps arrives at our warehouse, I test each individual image and sentiment to make sure all is well before we go into full production. It's one of my favorite things to do, and the potential for the set unfolds as I work. Perhaps my experimentation will inspire you to make a few creative things with this set. Take a look!

Stamp the weathervane onto an Ivory panel with Earth ink and mat with Blue. Stamp the sentiment onto Manila with India Black ink, distress the edges with Earth ink, and double mat. Make several loops with jute fiber and tape to the back of the sentiment. Layer onto the card with foam adhesive circles.

For best results, use a MISTI to help position the stamp. Mask the star area of the flag with scrap paper, ink the stripes with Red, remove the mask, and stamp onto an Ivory panel. Repeat to deepen the shade. Next, mask the stripes with scrap paper and ink the stars with Sapphire. Remove the paper mask and stamp. Use a grid ruler to help hold the paper while tearing away the outside edges; ink the edges with Earth. Stamp and mat the sentiment and layer onto a folded card base with a fiber bow.

Stamp individual banners onto Blue, Gold, and Red papers with White Pigment ink, trim with scissors. Add the banners to a Manila panel with foam adhesive circles. Tie two small bows with jute fiber, and glue onto the left and right edges of the banner.

Arrange all three star shapes onto a mounting block and create a repeated background on an Ivory panel with Red ink. Stamp the "friends/family" sentiment onto a Manila panel. Score and fold over the top portion of the paper, and wrap it around a piece of jute fiber. Adhere the sentiment with foam adhesive and wrap the fiber around to the back of the matted panel. Finish with star-shaped Dazzles.

Stamp the flag image at an angle onto a Gold card panel with Earth ink. Rotate the image each time to fill the panel. Stamp the buttons onto Ivory paper, add color with your favorite medium, and trim with scissors or a circle punch. Tuck behind the sentiment added with foam adhesive.

Stamp the flag onto Red paper with White Pigment ink. Tear along the edges, and layer onto a second torn Blue panel. Stamp and mat the word "brave" and add to the right edge of the card with foam adhesive.

Trim a Manila panel to 4x5.25" and layer a 2" Ivory panel to the top edge. Cover the seam between the two colors with a Blue and Red strip. Add three stamped banners (leftover from Card 3), and finish with stamped red stars and a sentiment.

All of the above cards were created with minimal supplies and a generous portion of POPs (the Vintage Americana Pack of Panels). What mediums and techniques will you try with your stamps? Be sure to post the results on our private Facebook Chat Group! See you there!
