With the help of our 5x7 U-Hinge Book Online Class, it's easy to transform any CS® Page kit and one sheet of mat board into a lovely handmade album. The book features Club Scrap's unique U-hinge binding and it's handy 7x5" landscape size makes it perfectly portable. The soft pastel hues of the Tiny Blossoms collection beautifully compliment photos of my three month old granddaughter, Mary Christine.
Tiny Blossoms 5x7 Handmade Album
Gather a Tiny Blossoms Page Kit and one 12x12 Mat Board. Next, purchase and download the 5x7 U-Hinge Book Instructions. If you'd like to make a book similar to mine, utilize the following paper substitutions when sorting and trimming your papers:
- Paper A = (2) Aqua
- Paper B, C, D = (2) each of Seafoam, Lt. Pink, Dk. Pink
- Paper E = (2) Large Floral Print
- Paper F = (2) Small Floral Print
Because this collection is a special release, you'll have four sheets of paper left over to create a dozen 4.25x6.25" photo mats: one each of Soft White, Lt. Pink, Dk. Pink and Aqua.
Follow the instructions and video tutorial provided in the online class to assemble the book structure. Tricia's expert guidance makes it easy and fun. After assembly, use the remaining paper and embellishments to decorate the book as desired.
Book Cover
Choose your favorite cutapart sentiment for the front cover. Fussy cut flower images from the cutapart artwork and adhere them to the cover, slightly overlapping the sentiment and each other.
Inside Pages
The unique U-Hinge binding allows plenty of space so you can really load up the pages with photos and embellishments without worry.
Round the corners of each outside flap with a 3 in 1 Corner Rounder punch, if desired. Embellish the top outside flap of each trifold page by trimming border strips and other cutaparts to fit the available space.
Add a 4.25x6.25 photo mat to the center opening of each trifold page. Add a second mat to the bottom flap to maximize photo display space.
Add panels, trimmed cutaparts and cropped photos to the inside pages and trifold flaps. Consider cropping two vertical photos to fit together on a single horizontal mat.
I like to add a journaling cutapart to the inside back cover of most of my handmade books. It provides a place to document the who, what, where, when, or provide a place write a dedication if the book is given as a gift.
The finished book turned out more beautifully than I could have imagined. I hope Miss Mary and her momma cherish it for years to come.
