Transform the Shoreline page kit into cards using one of Club Scrap's newest card making formulas. The Terrific Twenty Card Formula uses twelve sheets of paper (plus two optional bonus papers). Since the Shoreline kit is a special release (with sixteen 12x12 papers), I was able to make 20 cards, with two papers left over to do with what I please. NOTE: The Shoreline kit is LOW STOCK. Only a few kits remain as of this blog being published.
Shoreline Cards
Making the cards is easy and fun. First, purchase and download the Terrific Twenty Card Formula. Select your paper assignments, then follow the cutting diagrams/instructions to trim and sort the papers. Finally, follow the guidelines to assemble each card style. Finish each card using the embellishments and cutparts, altering the size/shape when necessary.
After carefully looking over the formula and comparing the paper options, I chose to mix up the papers a bit. I assigned papers based on the numbered instructions/diagrams, rather than Paper A,B,C, etc. If you'd like to replicate my cards, use the following paper assignments:
- Wave Print
- Yellow Plain
- Teal, Aqua, Green
- Aqua, Yellow, White
- Teal, Green
- Yellow
- Green
- (2) Shore Print
Are you ready for a visual tour of the finished cards?
Set A: Z-Fold Cards
The narrow Z-fold flap makes it a perfect match for the border strip cutaparts. Simply trim to fit each section.
Fussy-cut the shell and starfish artwork and adhere to the front of the card. Top the wooden banner tags with trimmed words/phrases and tie with jute for the perfect finishing touch.
For a fun twist, adhere the Adirondack chair cutapart on the second flap of the "relax" card. (The large shell hides it when closed.)
Set B: Small Panel Cards
Larger cutaparts may require trimming to fit the available space on your cards. Use the 8x8 grid ruler to ensure you don't trim off "too much".
Set C: Large Panel Cards
Laser cut anchors make a striking focal point on two of the cards. The simplicity of the sentiments means the cards can be used for almost any occasion.
Don't forget the ribbon! While the assembled cards are designed to be beautiful as is, a touch of ribbon can make all the difference.
Stamped Cards
I think you'll agree, 20 cards is a lot. You may run short of cutapart artwork/sentiments when making that quantity. For example, I was able to complete the 15 cards above using the artwork and sentiments available on the Shoreline cutaparts. From there, I used images and sentiments from the Under the Sea stamp sheet to complete the last five cards.
Two Z-fold cards feature the Under the Sea whale stamp.
Stamp the whale image onto a printed scrap using India ink. (I fused two leftover Wave Print strips together using tape on the back to create a larger "panel".) Fussy cut the image and adhere to the card front. Finish with a seashell gem and stamped sentiment inside.
The final three cards (one small panel and two large panel) are finished with stamped images and sentiments. To make use of the journaling tag, cover the lines with a 1.5x2.25" green scrap and add the sentiment.
I hope my cards help convince you to turn your favorite special release page kit into cards using Club Scrap's wide selection of card making formulas. The formulas are also a great way to transform your stash of random paper into something beautiful and useful.
Happy crafting!
