Learn something new this month when you make the Peony cards! As always, the kit includes everything required to create twelve greetings. (Even the envelopes.)
I'll never force you to simply read a boring document of written instructions. (Although, one is always provided.) Join me for my video workshop, and we'll have fun making these cards together. We typically follow this method: sort the papers into trimming order, trim all papers needed, score card bases, and assemble one card in each style. As a bonus, the card formula can be recycled! Substitute with papers from your stash to become even more proficient in these structures.
Set A - 4.25x5.5"
I love the 4.25x5.5" seed packet cards featured in Set A. The nice part is that I've come up with a way to make them without having to use a craft knife. Simply score, trim and fold. Next, I found a way to incorporate the triangular scraps into another set of cards. Classic move.
By strategically gluing the bottom edge and one angled flap of the card, a permanent pocket is created. The belly band can also be adhered to the card or allowed to move freely. My favorite addition is the small floral tab added to the top of the insert. Simply score and fold the cutapart square in cooperation with the grain, round the corners, and wrap around the card panel prior to adding the inner sentiment. (More tips in the video workshop.)
Set B - 4.5x6.25"
A split-flap design is a nifty choice when making a 4.5x6.25" card. To create a card of this size with a single fold, a 6.25x9" paper is required, and you can only get one card base from a 12x12 sheet. Here, I'm able to make four cards from just two pieces of 12x12 paper! The right card flap has a 1" tab that tucks behind the Green panel. If that's a little too much math for you, just trust me . . . I've got it all figured out!
Set C - 5x7"
The outside and inside of this lovely 5x7" card is fully decorated. A 2x7" strip anchors the inner cutapart sentiment. Next, tie a little jute to the top of the tag and add to the card. If you want to prevent the jute from moving around, simply add a dot of bookbinding glue to the knot and adhere permanently.
There you have it! Four each of three gorgeous styles, all magically made from ten sheets of 12x12 paper and two printed cutaparts. How fun is that?
