Years ago, my friend Dayna shared a fun origami folded bookmark on the Club Scrap forum.

I followed along with this video to learn the technique.

I thought it would be fun to create an updated version using the Paper Lace Mat and Paris Flea Market Deluxe kit papers.

Trim the middle square from the center of the mat. I used a painted piece left over from my Gelli Art post.

Fold the remaining square according to the video instructions.

Adhere a 2-7/8" square trimmed from the 12x12 Light Gray print to the inside of the bookmark for stability.

Embellish with paper flowers punched from the 8.5x11" Pink Pattern print. Create centers with Light Gray print flowers and black brads.

Shabby Chic Technique inspiration

Stamp the Art Nouveau script image onto black paper with Versamark ink. Sprinkle with clear embossing powder and heat set. Swipe paper with white acrylic paint and using a wet cloth, remove the paint from the embossed script creating a resist. Cut the medallion with a small scalloped circle die.
