January's Page Kit features gorgeous nature-inspired motifs paired with a soft, muted color palette. The Northwoods collection provides a natural backdrop for any occasion.
Northwoods Page Kit
Every monthly Club Scrap Page Kit creates eight beautifully coordinated pages. However, it's rare that I use all of them for a single occasion or event.
In this case, however, the pages were perfect for showcasing photos from my son's wedding*.
Layout 1 & 2
My youngest son was married in September at a beautiful rustic barn venue. The colors and artwork of the January collection were a perfect match for the wedding's overall aesthetic.
I didn't change much from the original layout design. In lieu of the ribbon treatment, crop a photo to fit the open space above the sentiment on the 4x6 cutapart.
Cover the "not lost" sentiment with a Gray scrap; embellish with a Leaf Woodcut.
Shift the Green Mat to the lower left side of the page. Use to mat a larger photo, aligning the top, bottom and left edges to maintain the 1/8" reveal.
Layout 3 & 4
Since I had more vertical than horizontal photos, I changed the orientation of the Brown mat, and shifted the arrangement of the cutaparts slightly.
I didn't really have any photos I could crop to fit the White mat, so instead I added a Green panel (Northwoods Pack of Panels) embellished with a leaf and Love Woodcut (Heartfelt 2026).
Layout 5 & 6
Both mats on the right page were turned 90 degrees to accommodate vertical photos.
"Borrow" the square cutapart sentiment from Layout 7 & 8, flip it to the plain side and top with a Leaf Woodcut.

A slight shift in the arrangement of the trimmed elements on both pages creates mats with a vertical orientation, without sacrificing the overall balance of the layout.

I just love the natural beauty of the January Page Kit. It took me about an hour to trim, sort and dry fit the pages. It took just under an hour to select, print, crop and adhere the photos.
