Create more Black Tie pages when you pair the Bonus Formula with papers and stamps from the February collection.
Black Tie Bonus Formula
Gather six plain papers from the Black Tie collection as indicated in the February Bonus Formula.
To recreate my layout, utilize the following paper assignments:
- White (Paper A)
- Cream Speckle Custom "Print" (Paper B)
- Black (Paper C)
- (2) Gold (Paper D)
Custom "Print" Tutorial
Separate the Cream Speckle (Paper B) from the stack and place it onto a padded work surface. (I use my Club Scrap grid paper pad.) Select the large collage image from the stamp set and mount it on an 8x8" Grid Ruler.
I chose to work with Moss Ink.
Rotate the stamp as you continue to fill the Cream Speckle paper with the images.
Remember to allow the stamped images to "fall off" the edges of the paper to mimic a "real" print.
Trimming and Assembly
Cut and sort the 12x12" papers: White (Paper A), Custom Cream Speckle "Print" (Paper B), and Black (Paper C) with a paper trimmer*.
Once the trimming is complete, refer to the sketch to dry fit the pieces.
Distress the edges of all the accent "print" papers with Moss Ink and an Ink Applicator Brush.
Remove the 5x12" White anchor panel from the Right page.
Place it into a stamping platform and secure with magnets to prevent the paper from slipping.
Center the fan image-side down at the top of the White paper.
Pick up the image with the lid of the platform and apply India Ink to the stamp. Close the lid to transfer the image to the paper. Repeat stamping until the desired level of saturation is achieved.
Rotate the White paper 180 degrees and repeat the steps to stamp a second image.
Return the White paper to it's position on the Right page; top with the Black mats as shown in the sketch.
Stamp the same fan image vertically onto the Gold base paper (of the left page) with India Ink.
Return the Gold base paper back to it's position on the left side of layout. The fan images should be peeking out from behind each small Black panel on both sides of the layout.
Position the border strips with the help of a 3x14" acrylic ruler. Adhere to the background papers.
Adhere the small Black panels, utilizing the ruler to ensure perfect alignment and even spacing.
Add the remaining photo mats and panels to the two base papers.
Embellishments
Add a small sentiment to an acrylic ruler. Stamp the image above the "print" border strip on the left page with Moss Ink.
Adhere Filigree Accents along the "print" border strips on both the left and right pages with Bookbinding Glue dispensed from a Needle-tipped Applicator.
Test-fit the photos over the mats until you're happy with the arrangement.
Hover the ruler over the photo mats to determine what size to crop the 4x6" photos.
The vertical tree photo was cropped to span the space created by two Black mats. Crop the remaining photos and adhere them to their corresponding mats.
