Learn how to turn an ordinary file folder and six sheets of paper into a beautiful gift with the Memory Wallet Online Class

Memory Wallet

With some clever scoring and folding, a straight cut manila file folder* is transformed into a lovely folio or "wallet" for storing memories; it makes a great gift or as a way to commemorate a special event or occasion.

In addition to the instructions download, gather the following:

Recycle the formula again and again with papers and supplies from your stash to create even more projects.

Stained Glass

Customize each Memory Wallet to suit a gift recipient, special occasion or event with your choice of papers and theme. Further enhance each with cutaparts or stamps and other embellishments.

To replicate my project, utilize the following paper assignments from the Stained Glass collection:

Embellish the cover with a Page Kit Cutapart and Black Medallion

The hook and loop closure keeps the contents secure. The wallet opens to reveal four pockets that hold four removable inserts.

The inserts feature folded pages for photos or other ephemera. Add mats and cutaparts to each insert.

Freeway

To recreate my Freeway Memory Wallet, gather the following papers from the collection:

In lieu of the Hook and Loop closure, I created an alternative ribbon closure. Note: Be sure to add a length of ribbon around the wallet structure before adhering both the front and back outside covers.

Embellish the front of the book with a sentiment from the Page Kit Cutaparts, a Silver Charm and a Mini Car Woodcut.

Instead of a folded insert on the front left pocket, cut the insert to create two 3.75x6.75 mats. After trimming a large Manila Tag to 7" tall, adhere the Blue mats to each side, transfer the hole in the tag and tie black ribbon at the top.

Inside, the pockets and inserts feature cutapart sentiments, artwork and photo mats.

Consider making a Memory Wallet for yourself, too! It's a great way to keep track of birthdays or your grocery list, coupons and more. Are your creative juices flowing yet?
