Pair the Trifold Album project with the Honor the Brave Page kit to make a keepsake album to celebrate a special military serviceman or woman in your life.
I filled my keepsake album with photos from my father's military career. He was with the military police in the canal zone of Panama in the early 60s.
To replicate my book, trim plain papers from the Honor the Brave kit to replace the pre-trimmed card stock included in the Trifold Album Workshop kit. Prep and assemble folding board and all newly-trimmed card stock pieces according to the directions.
***Edited 11/05/19: The Trifold Album Workshop Kit is no longer available, however, you can purchase a download of the instructions and video tutorial in our digital hybrid store.***
Decorate the finished album with ribbons, charms and cutaparts from the kit.
I substituted the silver embellishments for gold brads and gold metal corners to better coordinate with the Star Dazzles stickers.
Stitched Pocket Booklet
To create a booklet that fits into the pocket of the Trifold album, follow the steps below:
1. Trim five 12x12 papers to 8.25 x 10.5", noting grain direction for easier folding. Score and fold each 8.25 x 10.5" horizontally at 5.25".
2. Use an awl and piercing cradle to pierce each folded paper at .5, 1.5, 2.5, 5.75, 6.75 and 7.75".
3. Trim two 3" lengths of olive green grosgrain ribbon. Use painter's tape to temporarily secure ribbon to front cover between the holes pierced at 1.5 and 2.5, and 5.75 and 6.75".
4. Use a long stitch to connect all five pages into a single book, ending with thread tails on the inside. (For a quick review of the long stitch process, watch the video tutorial, starting around 3:30.)
5. Remove painter's tape, and glue ribbon tails to front and back covers. Add a 5x8" panel to front and back covers of booklet. Tie "Brave" charm onto stitched spine. Decorate as desired.
Happy memory keeping!
