The High Tide guest artist is Cyndy Rogers. I think you'll really love her cards - they feature some fun techniques and a mash-up of paper and stamps from past collections.

Mosaic Background

A few years ago, Tricia shared the Mizuhiki Technique on our YouTube channel. Cyndy's background panel below uses a similar technique, minus the Mizuhiki paper cord. For additional ways to create mosaic paper backgrounds, see the Carpet Tape Chronicles video series on our Vimeo channel.

The mosaic background combines High Tide with papers and stamped images from the now-extinct Lagoon (08/17) collection.

Stamp Lagoon images onto translucent vellum and heat-emboss in white. Stamp the seaweed background with watermark ink and color with white pencil.

Seaweed Card

Use watercolors to create background panel and die cut using stitched rectangle die. Stamp jellyfish, color with Twinks and enhance with Stickles glitter glue.

Trim 1/8 - 1/16" strips of paper to create seaweed. Add faux water droplets using Nuvo drops.

Plaid Z-fold Card

Stamp plaid background in Sapphire and Lagoon ink using stamps from the now-extinct Cape Cod (05/13) collection.

Stamp octopus and heat-emboss with white. Color with Zig markers. Stamp and die cut sentiment in a tag shape. Add ribbon and blue twine.

Thanks & Happy Birthday

Mat cutapart with a blue panel. Apply Glass Bead Glitter Gel (Faber Castell) to waves and bubbles.

Embellish sentiment with Diamond Glaze for dimension. Trim cutapart, wrap with baker's twine, and adhere with foam adhesive. Add shell sequins using Bookbinding Glue.

Repeat the steps above to create the "happy birthday" card. Add die cut border.

Adhere three mini fish charms using BB glue.

Alcohol Inks on Yupo Paper

Create background panels using coordinating alcohol inks on Yupo paper.

Stamp Lagoon images onto vellum and heat-emboss in white. Add cutapart sentiment.

Stamp sea turtles in black, color with Zig markers. Apply watercolors to white panel and die cut using stitched rectangle die. Add paper strips to create "seaweed". Adhere to Yupo paper panel using foam adhesive.

Stamp sentiment (Lagoon 8/17) using India ink.

Adhere white striped panel die cut over Yupo background. Stamp jellyfish onto two colors of vellum, heat-emboss in white. Embellish with circle sequins.

Watercolor Effects

Stamp octopus, heat emboss with white EP. Color with Distress inks applied with a water brush. Die cut panel and mat with sparkle paper (from stash).

Stamp bubbles (Lagoon 08/17) onto green panel. Adhere cutpart embellished with Glass Beads Glitter Gel. Create easel using Lagoon printed paper.

Stamp turtle and heat-emboss in white. Color with Zig markers. Apply watercolors to create background.

Woven Background

Create background panel by weaving strips of paper, cutaparts and assorted fibers.

Stamp sentiment and die cut into a tag shape. Embellish with shell sequin, ribbon, twine and beads.

Paper Piecing

Draw a wave pattern free-hand. Scan and copy on four different paper colors using a printer. Cut out pattern, reassemble onto white panel and outline the layers with a black pen.

Top cutapart starfish with Diamond Glaze for added dimension and shine.

Cut four papers using a round paper-piecing die. Assemble. Stamp sentiment using white pigment ink (Come Sail Away 04/12). Embellish with shell sequin and fibers.

Z-fold Mini Gift Notecards

Fold paper into thirds to create z-fold. Use border die to decorate edge. Stamp images onto white square panels. Color with Zig markers and top with Twinks for a bit of metallic sparkle.

I hope you enjoyed this tour of Cyndy's cards and are inspired to try one or more of the techniques shared here. Stay tuned later this month to see more of Cyndy's inspiring stamped artwork!
