Warning: This blog post is a little fishy and full of Lagoon stamps!
All fish stories aside, creating cards using the monthly UM stamps continues to be one of my favorite tasks at Club Scrap.
(I tried to "scale" back on the number of cards I created, but I couldn't help myself!)
JUMBO UM
CARD #1
Create a mottled background with Moss and Ocean Inks. Stamp bubbles and seaweed onto the panel. Fussy cut and adhere the stamped seahorse and starfish images to the front of the card with Bookbinding Glue in a Needle-tipped Applicator. Embellish the seahorse with white gel pen accents and a googly eye.
CARD #2
Brayer Ocean, Leaf, Moss, Topaz and Tangerine Inks onto White Plain paper* panels. Stamp the mermaid tails in India Ink onto the inked panels and fussy cut with detail scissors. Adhere to the card with Bookbinding glue. *The coated white paper featured in this month's collection is perfect for brayering techniques!
CARD #3
Stamp and fussy cut the mermaid tail and starfish. Adhere to the front of the card with Bookbinding glue. Stamp the Dk. Teal panel with bubbles in White Pigment Ink.
CARD #4
Build a color blocked background with stamped White, Sand and Lt. Teal panels. Layer the panels onto a Dk. Teal card base. Embellish with Deluxe fibers tied with a Coin Charm for just the right finishing touch.
ART NOUVEAU UM
CARD #1
Create a fun beach scene with torn Dk. and Lt. Teal papers. Distress the edges of the torn papers with White Pigment ink. Adhere the papers in alternating layers to a Sand card base. Embellish the torn edges with glitter glue.
CARD #2
Use a brayer to create a background on a White Plain panel with Tangerine, Ocean, and Moss inks. Add stamped bubbles and seaweed and spritz the panel with green mist. Fussy cut the fish and starfish from brayer scraps. Add additional color to the fish with an orange pencil. Attach these images along with the matted sentiment to the front of the card.
CARD #3
Stamp the fish onto a scrap of White Plain paper. Color the fish with an orange pencil to make this image pop! Fussy cut the fish and adhere to the card.
GREETING UM
CARD #1
Create a soft, mottled background by adding more water to inks applied to a craft sheet. Check out this blog post for more details on this inspiring technique.
Achieve this look using Ocean, Moss and Tangerine inks.
CARD #2
Create the look of faux sand and sea glass by filling the Lagoon Mini Bottle with pastel seed beads. Adhere the bottle to the card with Bookbinding glue.
CARD #3
Cut a scrap of paper with a 1" circle punch. Add the Rhinestone Starfish to the center and layer onto the grosgrain ribbon. Keep the look sweet and simple by completing the card with a sentiment stamped in Ocean ink.
