Pam B. hosts a unique challenge in the forum every month entitled NBUS (aka Never Before Used Stamp) Challenge. Check out all the details HERE for a full description.

This month she asked us to create a holiday card using a stamp that was not specifically designed with a holiday in mind. Always up for a challenge, here is how I created my card. 1. Select Gelatos for creating the background.

2. Draw lines of color onto white paper. Use more of the light shade and less of the dark shade. Generously spritz with water and let the colors blend and run together.

3. Create a "hill" mask out of torn copy paper.

4. Sponge black ink onto the paper with the mask in place.

5. Stamp directly onto background with the willow image from the Trees Borders & Backgrounds sheet. (This was my element for the NBUS challenge.)

6. Add a punched circle moon using Oopsie Daisy gray paper. (Love the paper texture and how it mimicked the surface of the moon when rubbed with black Gelato.) 7. Create pumpkins with stems using Homestead Pumpkin and Green papers and punches or hand cut shapes. Define the edges of the shapes with Earth ink.

8. Stamp the "Happy" sentiment from the Homestead Borders & Backgrounds sheet onto white paper and complete the sentiment by handwriting "Halloween!" with a black journaling pen.

Take a look at all those "never before used stamps" in your collection and create something totally unexpected.
