Create two gorgeous cards made with emboss resist squares featuring the Reef Stamps. This is one of my favorite inky techniques. I was inspired by a card I saw recently on Pinterest to revisit this fun technique. Pin-spiration strikes again!

Emboss Resist Squares Tutorial
Dust white watercolor (or mixed media) paper with anti-static powder.
Add images from the Reef stamp set on the panel with Watermark Ink. (Trust me, they are there!)
Sprinkle the images with white embossing powder and tap off the excess in a tray.
Apply heat to the images to melt the powder.
Gather a variety of water-reactive inks. I chose Distress and Distress Oxide Inks in shades that compliment the Reef color palette.
Starting with the lightest colors first, apply ink to the panel in a circular motion with an Ink Applicator Brush.
Continue covering the entire panel of embossed images with ink, until the desired effect is achieved.
Wipe off any excess ink with a clean, dry cloth.
Trim the stamped panel into 1.5" squares.
Let's take a look at the finished card samples.
Create a grid on an Aqua panel with the embossed resist squares. Wrap waxed cord around the panel and tie it in place. Stamp the sentiment with Ocean ink on an Aqua scrap; mat with Gold. Layer onto a Gold card panel, then add to a Yellow card base.
Line up three squares in a vertical orientation on a white strip. Mat with Gold and Aqua. Stamp the urchin images on the Green card base with Sandstone ink. Adhere the layered strip to the card base. Top with a sentiment stamped with Ocean ink, matted with Gold.
