Cottage Garden Bonus Pages
April Page Formula
Gather six plain papers from the Cottage Garden collection as indicated in the April Bonus Formula.

To recreate my layout, utilize the following paper assignments:
- White (Paper A)
- Yellow Custom "Print" (Paper B)
- Pink (Paper C)
- Dk. Green (Paper D)
- (2) Lt. Green (Paper E)

Custom "Print" Tutorial
Separate the Yellow (Paper B) from the stack and place it onto a padded work surface. (I use my Club Scrap grid paper pad.) Select the three mushroom images from the stamp set and mount them onto a single acrylic block as shown.

A Club Scrap Ink color swatch helps me find a perfect ink color to coordinate with the collection; in this case, Yellow CS® Hybrid ink. I love the subtle tone on tone look it creates.

Fill the 12x12 Yellow paper with stamped images, rotating the stamping block each time in alternating directions. Remember to allow the stamped images to "fall off" the edges of the paper to mimic the look of real printed paper.

Once the paper is completely filled with images, it's ready for trimming.

Page Trimming and Assembly
Sort the 12x12" papers: White (Paper A), Custom Yellow "Print" (Paper B), Pink (Paper C), and Dk. Green (Paper D); cut the paper with a trimmer* according to the formula's instructions and sort the pieces.

Once all trimming is complete, refer to the sketch to dry fit the pieces.

Position a sentiment face down on the large White panel on the Left page. Mark its position on the paper with faint pencil lines.

Insert the White paper to a stamping platform and place the stamp between the pencil marks.

Close the lid of the platform to pick up the stamp.

Open the lid and apply Moss Ink to the sentiment.

Close the lid of the platform to transfer the image on the paper. Ink and repeat if necessary to get the desired depth of color.

Erase the pencil lines and return the White panel to the layout.

Apply Bookbinding Glue dispensed from a Needle-tipped Applicator to the back of the skinny Pink accent strip.

Nest the border strips and the layered mats together as shown in the sketch and set aside.

Adhere the Pink anchoring strip to the left side of the first page using the 3x14" acrylic ruler to ensure proper alignment.

Continue to add the anchoring panels and remaining accent strip with the ruler as your guide.

Stamp a sentiment onto the small Dk. Green square with Moss Ink.

For the right side of the layout, adhere the skinny Pink anchor strip first. If you do not have the 8x8" Grid Ruler handy, position the border strips with the help of a 3x14" and 2x8" Acrylic Ruler stacked together.

Retrieve the layered mats and adhere to both pages as shown.

Test-fit photos over the mats until you're happy with the arrangement.

Hover a 2x8" ruler over the photo mats to determine the ideal photo size.
Crop the photo to span both photo mats.

Crop a 4x6" photo into two 2" squares and adhere side by side to preserve the continuity of the original photo. Crop the remaining photos and adhere them to their corresponding mats.

Create Custom Embellishments
Stamp multiple mushrooms onto a White scrap with Ash Ink.

Color the mushrooms with a variety of Ohuhu Alcohol markers* and fussy cut with scissors.

Adhere the mushrooms to the pages with Bookbinding Glue dispensed from a Needle-tipped Applicator.

Draw faint journalling lines with a pencil and acrylic ruler on the wide Pink strip at the bottom of the Right page.

Die cut a title from a scrap of Dk. Green paper.

Apply Bookbinding Glue dispensed from a Needle-tipped Applicator to each letter; adhere them beneath the row of photos on the Left page.

Finally, add journalling. Let's take another look at the finished Cottage Garden pages.
