Create a beautiful Butterflies book with the page kit, Classic Stitch Bound Book components, and coordinating book cloth.
I joined Tricia for her Facebook Live workshop and crafted my book along with many other Club Scrap friends. Be sure to like and follow our Facebook page so you don't miss out on any of our upcoming events! (Join us on August 11 to create the High Tide Remix pages together.)
Butterflies Book
I chose to work with the following papers from the Butterflies Page Kit:
- (2) Butterfly Print
- (2) Collage Print
- (2) Purple Plains
- (2) Blue Plains
- (2) White Plains
- (2) Aqua Plains
I chose to decorate the cover with one of the nested photo mat panels paired with a cutapart from the collection. I wrapped a length of purple ribbon around the large cutapart before layering it onto the nested panels. The circle and filigree butterfly embellishment added the perfect finishing touch.
Several of the nested photo mats layer plains over the prints. I have a trick on how to salvage some of those gorgeous panels. Lay a grid ruler onto the print at 1/2" mark. Make a cut from 1/2" from the top of the panel and ending 1/2" above the bottom of the panel with a craft knife.
Continue trimming until the center of the panel has been removed. The resulting panel can be used to decorate the inside pages of the book.
The print panel with the rectangle removed now becomes hidden when nested with a plain panel.
Let's take another look at the completed album.

We invited our members to share their completed stitch bound book projects with us. Here is a selection of their projects using a variety of kits.
Lori Beth Clark paired the Nice To See You (Retreat 2014) collection with the components to create this album. The cutapart tag and ribbons complete the cover nicely.
Kenda Hannigan and Tammy Haye got together for the event and assembled their books.
Kenda paired the Peacock (Oct. 2012) Collection with blue (Brights) book cloth to complete her album. This cutapart looks like it was designed to fit this cover.
Tammy used the Lavender Fields (May 2018) Page kit with pale purple (Soft) book cloth for her album. The lace and cutapart add just the right touch to finish the cover.
Donna Miller created the album with July's Prism Page kit. covered with red (Brights) book cloth. We loved the addition of the Diamond washi tape to embellish the cover.
If you missed Tricia's Live event, never fear, it is saved on our Club Scrap Facebook Page to watch at your convenience.
Happy Stitching!
