Create more Boughs of Joy pages with the October 2025 Bonus Formula. Did you know you can make a custom "print" with stamps if you don't have prints from the collection? Grab a selection of Hybrid Inks and Boughs of Joy plain paper and I'll show you how!
Boughs of Joy Pages with Custom Print
October Bonus Formula
To recreate my pages, utilize the following paper assignments: Ivory (Paper A), Gold (Paper B), Red (Paper C), Brown (Paper D) and two Blue (Paper E) serve as the base of the layout.
Custom "Print" Tutorial
Separate the two Blue (Paper E) from the stack and place them one at a time on a padded work surface. (I use my Club Scrap grid paper pad.)
Mount each image from the stamp set onto clear acrylic blocks or grid rulers. NOTE: The rulers are an 1/8" thick, as compared to the 1/2" thickness of most acrylic stamping blocks. The rulers helps me achieve a cleaner image on the first try.
Gather Hybrid Ink colors that coordinate with the Boughs of Joy paper collection.like Earth, Spruce and Lt. Blue.
Start by stamping the largest bough image with Lt. Blue Ink. Press firmly with the palm of your hand to ensure proper image transfer.
Rotate the stamp as you continue to add images around the perimeter of the paper, leaving space for additional stamped images.
Remember to allow the stamped images to "fall off" the edges of the paper to mimic a "real" print. Repeat the process with the second sheet of Blue.
Next, add the twig image to the open areas with Spruce Ink.
Add small pine branches with Spruce Ink to fill in any remaining open space.
Distress the edges of the 12x12" papers with Lt. Blue Ink.
Once the "prints" are complete, it's time to cut the papers according to the instructions in the formula.
Trimming and Assembly
Trim and sort the 12x12" papers according to the October Bonus Formula instructions.
Once the trimming is complete, refer to the sketch to dry fit the pieces. Adhere each panel to its coordinating mat.
Align the border strips and largest anchor papers with the help of the 3x14" grid ruler to ensure proper alignment.
Rescue one Brown scrap as a mat for a page title. Adhere gold Dazzles stickers to the strip, and position it below the Ivory photo mats on the left page.
Stamp the pinecone image onto an Ivory scrap with Earth Ink.
Fussy cut the images with scissors.
Arrange the pinecones in small groupings around the photo mats. Test fit 4x6" photos over the mats to ensure proper placement.
Crop the photos and adhere them to their corresponding mats. Add a few additional Dazzle stickers for additional interest.
