The Bookworm Page Kit is ideal for preserving memories of book clubs, visits to libraries, museums, and more. However, I encourage you to look beyond the obvious when scrapping this gorgeous collection.

Bookworm Page Kit

I just love the earthy color palette of the Bookworm Page Kit. Obviously many of the Cutapart sentiments reference reading or books. But as I assembled the pages, I realized with a little "outside the box" thinking, the sentiments could apply to other occasions as well - and those that didn't, could be removed, disguised, or covered with photos.

Layout 1 & 2

Bookworm Scrapbook Layout 1 & 2

The sentiments on Layout 1 & 2 seemed quite appropriate for memories of my parents getting to know my son's girlfriend.

Since Elizabeth and my mom are a bit on the short side (and the men vertically gifted), it was necessary to do some careful cropping and creative photo placement on the right page. I left the photos taller than the mats and cropped just two photos to span the area created by the three mats. (The 8x8 grid ruler is an indispensible tool when cropping photos.)

Layout 3 & 4

The next two pages feature photos from the 2021 Scrapbooking Retreat at Silver Birch Ranch. Don't the photos look perfect on this layout?

On the left, crop a single horizontal photo to fit the space created by the twin mats.

At the top of the right page, trim a photo to replace the sentiment cutapart.

And at the bottom, the second sentiment cutapart becomes a mat for another photo.

Layout 5 & 6

This two-page spread is another excellent example of using the colors in the photos as a guide, rather than theme. The green trees and burgundy clothing make these photos and these pages a match made in heaven!

On the left, crop a single vertical photo to fit the space created by the stacked mats.

Crop a second photo to fit the border strip (and camouflage the sentiment).

Layout 7 & 8

Finally, the last two pages feature photos from a friend's birthday celebrated in an outdoor dome at a local distillery.

I hope you enjoyed this quick tour of my finished layouts. I also hope my tips inspire you to "think outside the box" when scrapping your next page kit. Never be afraid to make small changes to customize the layouts to fit your needs.

We'd love to see your finished layouts, too! We invite you to share your completed projects on the Club Scrap Chat Facebook Group. It's the place to get inspired, as well as inspire others.
