Create amazing stamped cards with the Bleach Coloring technique. Lisa recently suggested this idea and I knew we had to give it a try. It can be fun to utilize items we already have on hand, so grab some colored pencils and household bleach and let's get stamping!
Bleach Coloring Tutorial
Prepare for this technique by pouring a small amount of bleach into a cup - or make a custom "bleach pad" with folded paper towels soaked in bleach. Tip: This technique works best with darker papers and fine-lined stamp images.
Dust a panel with anti-static powder. Add stamped images to the panel with Watermark Ink.
Sprinkle the panel with gold embossing powder and heat set to melt.
Dip a paint brush into the bleach and "paint" inside the lines to remove color from the panel in those areas
Continue "painting" inside each flower. Once all images are filled in with bleach, set the panel aside to dry before moving on to the next step.
After the panel is fully dry, color in details with watercolor pencils.
Blend the colors with a water brush.
Dip the blunt (flat) end of the paintbrush into the bleach.
Add dots of bleach to the background for added interest.
Dip the tip of the paintbrush in bleach and fill the remaining open spaces with fine dots.
Add a gold embossed sentiment to a small panel. Dip the edges into the bleach.
Adhere the sentiment to the finished panel with foam adhesive circles.
Let's take a look at some of the completed card samples.
