Create seven gorgeous cards with February's Black Tie Stamps. Pair the modern art deco images with the classic hues of the papers from the collection.
Black Tie Stamps
Looking for ink colorsto pair with the Black Tie stamps that complement the February color palette? We recommend Caramel, Moss, Leaf, Spruce CS® Hybrid ink and India Black ink.
Black Tie Stamped Cards
The finished size of each card below is 4.25x5.5", unless otherwise noted.
Card 1
Add the small frame to an Ivory panel with Moss Ink.
Stamp the corner accent images evenly spaced above and below the frame with India Ink.
Position the sentiment facing down inside the frame.
Pick up the stamp with the lid of a stamping platform.
Stamp the sentiment within the open space inside the frame with India Ink.
Trim a piece of Black Velvet Paper to 3-3/4x5".
Add texture with an embossing folder.
Adhere the embossed mat to an Ivory folded card base using a Grid ruler as a guide.
Layer the stamped Ivory paper with a Gold mat. Adhere to the embossed velvet panel.
For the inside of the card, stamp the companion sentiment onto a small piece of Gold paper with India Black Ink. Stamp three circles with Moss Ink.
Card 2
Add two fan images to the left side of a 3-1/2x4-3/4" Ivory panel with Moss Ink.
Stamp the sentiment to the right of the fans with India Ink.
Apply Bookbinding Glue dispensed from a Needle-tipped Applicator to the back of a Filigree Accent.
Center it between the two fans.
Adhere a 1x5-1/4" Black strip to a Gold folded card base using a mini grid ruler to ensure perfect alignment.
Nest the stamped Ivory paper onto a 3-3/4x5" Black mat and center it on the card base.
Card 3
Apply Moss, Leaf, and Spruce Inks to different areas of the large coolage image.
Stamp the image onto a White panel.
Trim the panel leaving an 1/8" reveal around the stamped image.
Adhere a 3-3/4x5 Black to a 4x5-1/4" Gold panel. Center the double mats onto a folded Cream Speckled card base.
Adhere a 1x4-3/4" strip horizontally across the stamped panel as shown.
Add the small frame with Moss Ink to a Cream Speckle panel; stamp the sentiment with India Ink. Mat with Gold.
Trim Foam Adhesive Circles in half with scissors.
Add the half circles to the back of the sentiment as shown.
Remove the backing from the adhesive; adhere the sentiment onto the Black strip to complete the card.
Card 4
Add color to the surface of a Cream Speckled panel with Caramel Ink applied directly from the pad. Make sure to protect your work surface.
Stamp the panel with the large collage image with Spruce Ink.
Trim the panel to 4x5-1/4" with a paper trimmer*.
Stamp the sentiment onto an Ivory panel with Spruce Ink.
Position the tiny diamond image beneath the sentiment using Caramel Ink.
Repeat the image two more times.
Trim the sentiment and mat with Black. Position the sentiment at the bottom left of the inked panel. Add Bookbinding Glue to the back of a Fan Sequin.
Tuck underneath the corner of the sentiment to complete the card.
Card 5
Stamp the corner images onto a 3-1/2x4-3/4" Cream Speckled panel with Caramel Ink.
Place the panel onto a cutting mat; cut along the curve of each image with a craft knife, as shown below.
The back of the panel shows each cut more clearly.
Add Bookbinding Glue to the back side of a Velvet panel and insert the tip of each corner into the slots.
Add a sentiment on a 2x3-1/4" Cream Speckled panel with Caramel Ink.
Trim two lengths of ribbon slightly longer than the width of the panel with Fabric Scissors*.
Wrap the ends of the Gold and Black ribbons around the back of the panel and secure with clear tape. Nest onto a 2-3/4x4" Black panel.
Center the nested artwork onto the front of a folded Gold card base.
For the inside of the card, stamp a small piece of Cream Speckled paper with a sentiment with Caramel Ink. Trim the ends with scissors to create a swallowtail detail.
Adhere the sentiment inside the card.
Card 6
Dust a Black panel with anti-static powder.
Stamp the large collage image onto the panel with Watermark Ink.
Cover the image with gold embossing powder.
Tap off the excess powder.
Heat set the powder to melt.
Fussy cut around the image with scissors.
Stamp both sentiments onto an Ivory panel with India Ink.
Trim around the sentiment and mat with Black and Ivory nesting panels.
Layer the embossed panel onto a 3-1/2x4-3/4" Gold. Center and adhere all the layers onto a folded Ivory card base.
Position the sentiment in the top right corner of the card.
Trim the inside sentiment panel to size, leaving a small space at the top for a ribbon accent.
Wrap the sentiment panel with the ribbon and secure it to the back with clear tape.
Adhere the layered sentiment panel inside the card.
Card 7
Stamp the large collage image onto a 3-1/2x4-3/4" White panel with Spruce Ink.
Stamp the two fan shapes onto a Gold panel with India Ink.
Die cut with a 2-1/2" circle shape*.
Die cut a 2" Cream Speckled and two 1-1/2" Black circles.
Stamp the sentiment onto the 2" circle with Moss Ink.
Center the stamped panel onto a 4x5-1/4" Gold mat; adhere to a folded Black card base. Add the remaining circle panels as shown.
Tuck two Fan Sequins behind the sentiment circle.
Tie a bow with Black metallic ribbon. Attach it to the sentiment circle to complete the card.
